Open call for speakers (people who run WooCommerce stores)

Hi, I'm Mr. Tanaka, Executive Committee Manager.

The committee is currently preparing for the speaker session by calling on the speakers for the session.

The speakers for this conference will be developers and shop owners. We are also asking some of our sponsors to join us.

Details of the open call for speakers

At this point, while we were discussing the session in the committee, we decided that it would be good for people involved in WooCommerce to have a chance to hear from people who actually run a WooCommerce store. We're looking for people who are currently running WooCommerce and who would like to participate in a panel discussion session.

We would like to narrow the panel discussion down to three speakers, so we would like to have a total of four, including the moderator, to deepen the content of the panel discussion.

Open Call for Speakers

You have a site that currently uses WooCommerce and you run an online shop (no affiliate sites are allowed for this speaker). You can be a management staff member or a contracted management company. If you are not the owner of the site, please ask the owner for permission to speak at the event. Site owners who are currently working on their sites or who have managed their sites in the past are not eligible to speak.

Since we will mainly talk about the management of the event, you are not required to disclose your sales. You can also talk about your business on the contrary.

We will also have an online meeting with the organizing committee and other speakers in advance. We will adjust the schedule separately, but we would like you to join us. We will coordinate the schedule separately, but we ask you to attend.

It is a condition of application that you agree with the code of conduct for this event.

Session Time Allocation

The time allotment for the session will be as follows

• 5 minutes each for a description of the site and the products we offer (15 minutes total)
• Panel discussion with the moderator. We will tell you the topic of the discussion in advance and discuss it (35-40 minutes in total).

YOU WILL BE GIVEN 5 MINUTES TO EXPLAIN THE SITE AND OTHER INFORMATION, SO PLEASE PREPARE YOUR SLIDES IN ADVANCE. IT IS A PREREQUISITE THAT YOU CAN PUBLISH THE URL OF YOUR SITE.

Speaker's fees for speakers

Also, since we are asking for a paid session, we will give you 5,000 yen in the form of a requested speaking fee (cash or Amazon gift certificate), although it will be a small amount.

Selection of Speakers

If we receive more than three (3) applications for speakers, the Executive Committee will make a selection. We want to make sure that the selection criteria are not biased by the situation or the merchandises of three people. For example, we don't want to be in a situation where those who have only just opened a store will all be selected, or that all of the products will be fashion related. We will not provide a clear explanation of the reasons for this to those who are not selected, so please be aware of this before you apply.
